To remove the DRM from the books published in 2023, you'll need to use methods 3 or 6. You can't download new books (published in 2023) with any old version of Kindle for PC, either 1.14 or 1.17. 1.12.4 worked, but could not DRM due to KFX format of new downloads. 1.17.1 crashed on macOS Sierra even after removing the container and prefs files. Not wanting to take anything away from the hard work people put into all of this, I just want to know if it's me. I reverted to an older version of kindle. So my question is, I just want to understand if the above fixes work for everyone, and it's something I'm doing wrong, or if they only work sometimes. I also tried it with 1.17, but I can't get that version to stop updating. However, the KFX_begone4.bat file trick still doesn't allow me to download the newer books [that I'm assuming are KFX because when I try to download them it gives me the error "Your kindle requires an app to view this content." Method 2a, I'm using Kindle for PC 1.14.1 because it was the 'one' that never updated automatically for me. No matter what instructions I followed, it kept updating from 1.17 to 1.3 I'm very tech challenged so please keep that in mind. I just tried a couple of things from the first post. First I want to thank all the hard work people put into trying all the various fixes and time to help, I really appreciate it!
